import from wpEdit

see for my attempt to import all of wikipedia's templates.

Does that just copy all of the templates from Wikipedia? ...without giving credit to the authors, and making it look like you, H4ck3rm1k3, wrote them all (as shown in the edit history)? You can export pages from Wikipedia and import them into other mediawiki sites, including the entire edit history (thereby giving the authors credit for their contributions). and also I am not a lawyer, but I believe you should include the edit history. At least, include attribution to Wikipedia itself and a link back to the template and its edit history on Wikipedia, where the authors will be listed. I may be wrong, but I don't think you can just copy them all with no attribution whatsoever.
That is a good point. The attribution I have just updated globally. It says on the front pages that all the templates are from Wikipedia. The original authors ares still stored and will be available, we can pull the list of authors in if needed afterwards, also we will want to keep this list up to date and also re-apply any patches to make them work on wikia. See here : You don't need to list all authors if the list is available. This does however mean for projects copying the deleted articles that the list of authors should be preserved. Before spending time devising patches, you might check whether Familypedia, which copies and adapts large amounts of WP stuff (mostly about places or people or dates), has already adapted the template you are interested in. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 13:02, November 14, 2017 (UTC)

FANDOM licensing Edit

The first point about licensing on the main page should be reworded, because a few FANDOM sites are NOT CC-BY-SA. "Freeciv" is one - it kept its different license when it migrated to Wikia. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 12:55, November 14, 2017 (UTC)
