Thanks. I would try to add more content to w:c:help, but the process of getting help pages promoted from Draft to shared Help is very murky. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:33 PM PST 11 Aug 2010
In response to your question, I must say I'm not aware of any formal way to add anything to Starter. There was a page on Central Wikia, but I don't know if it's still there. Most of what I have done on Starter was tinkering with existing pages.
If a template here gets consensus from several of our active contributors, I'll consider adding it to Starter, probably after having a look for discussion pages on Central.
I'm a bit curious about this wiki. Can you just submit a template if you think you've made something clever and think other wiki's might be able to use it? Also, templates are technicaly CC-BY-SA since it's text, right? Does this mean you need to attribute where you get templates in the first place? Duskey(talk) 13:13, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
Technically, if you make a template, you could give it a different license than CC-BY-SA, but CC-BY-SA would apply (since Wikia wiks in general are covered) unless the wiki explicitly excluded itself or added another license (like GFDL).
Personally, I don't care if templates from Templates wiki are used on other Wikia wikis without direct attribution, but other users think it is important. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:02 AM PST 27 Aug 2010
From a legal standpoint, it is. Not specifying the source violates the license and potentially opens the reuser up to legal prosecution, though in this environment, anyone pursuing such legal action is more likely to be trolling for the hell of it than genuinely concerned about maintaining the terms of the license. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 04:51, August 30, 2010 (UTC)
The confusion starts though when people on various forums offer up templates from their wikis for copying, but disregard the licensing implications. It would be easier if Wikia could make a clear statement about sharing content between Wikia wikis. Almost no one is going to go to the effort of properly attributing content if there is no enforcement or clear guidelines. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11:02 PM PST 29 Aug 2010
Please use Special:Contact, if you feel strongly about attribution for licensing purposes. As I said above, "Personally, I don't care if templates from Templates wiki are used on other Wikia wikis without direct attribution...". -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 6:05 PM PST 30 Aug 2010
That should work, but technically you're supposed to link to the template's history as you need to attribute the authors of the template, not just the wiki where it came from. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:31 AM PST 5 Sep 2010
Hi, i'm really bad at templates and stuff (actually i can "make" a userbox on swfanon if i edit one that already exists and copy and paste under a new name) so i was hoping you could possibly help set up infobox templates (and some other basic templates, please go to swfanon for inspiration if you need to) for 3rd Rock wiki which i am hoping to adopt. we currently have no infobox templates and i could never understand the tutorials on the help pages.... thanks in advance for your help--(Have something to say?) 15:46, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
I would suggest you look at other TV wikis and find infobox templates you like and link them here. I will help you move them to your wiki. I don't want to get in a cycle where I create an infobox you don't really know if you like and then try to figure out what you want. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:22 AM PST 17 Sep 2010
Can i just tell you what i want on it? if not can we use something like this? w:c:futurama:Template:Character (but put in a last appearance also instead of just a first.) Also can you please set up quote templates.--(Have something to say?) 17:45, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
You actually did what I asked, but you just didn't realize it. I can try to port the Futurama character template to your wiki, but with the change you requested. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:17 PM PST 17 Sep 2010
By the way, how come the wiki logo hasn't been updated? -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:29 PM PST 17 Sep 2010
I'm working on it, they are still re-revieing my request [1]. Thank you very much for the templates, would it be possible for you to do these two also? after that i think i can handle the rest: [2] and [3]. also with the infobox, can you please switch "voiced by" to "portrayed by" and put in a place where i can add a picture and the name (sorry if i'm getting annoying). thank you so much! (Have something to say?) 02:57, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
I'll add the shower thinker one, but the red link one is pretty unnecessary. Let me help you setup some preload templates for new pages instead. Using a red link template is very misleading, because it makes someone think there might be useful content on a page, but it is really a stub and less so. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 10:09 PM PST 18 Sep 2010
Thanks, also with the infobox, can you please switch "voiced by" to "portrayed by" and put in a place where i can add a picture and the name (sorry if i'm getting annoying).PS i put on the logo. --(Have something to say?) 14:20, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
how do I get a standard wiki theme on my new wiki? Edit
Thank you for you offer to help.
I started a new wikia wiki and I was thinking it would look more like Wikipedia or at least have the search bar on the right side. but alas my wikia wiki looks like a blog page for anyone not logged in.
Any help would be usefull, plus if you know of any wikia articles that might help those would be good too.
That would be the "new look" Wikia is forcing down our throats. You can set your personal skin to Monobook in your user preferences, but you cannot set your wiki's default skin to anything but some minor variation on the new look skin. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 22:27, October 11, 2010 (UTC)
Hey Fandyllic, I opened an adoption request for this wiki a few days ago (only because it was suggested by the staffer who responded to my Special:Contact message), and the staffer that responded requested that I ask if it was all right with you first; I don't suppose you'd mind? 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 09:07, November 18, 2010 (UTC)
I'm fine with your request. I'm not a bureaucrat after all, just a sysop.
Please try to notify Kirkburn, who is the resident bureaucrat, of your adoption request. I would leave a message at his Community talk page. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 9:47 AM PST 18 Nov 2010
All right, thanks. I'll drop a message on his talk page there. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:29, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

I just make a template name Template:Diễn đàn but don't know make its kids: Template:Diễn đàn/Phố Danville. Now I have done it. Thanks for show me about this. I have learned a new thing, Templates have kids too, Tem:.../kid, it's so cool. Thank you again.
About logo request, I have send to the logo wiki the aveyond and alpha kimori wiki, please see them.
About infobox character, please help about this thing, each time I make a character, I must use this in infobox character <youtube width=215 height=170>video code</youtube>.
This is so not good, and have been problem with template editor at WYSIWYG mode. When you edit Infobox at WYSIWYG mode, the <youtube width=215 height=170>video code</youtube> will change to youtube width=215 height=170video code</youtube>, this will make an error and there is no video in infobox after editing! I must correct again and again and again when new user come to the wiki and edit the infobox at WYSIWYG mode, they don't want to vandal but the happening just happen. I must correct by myself.
I think I should re edit my infobox that let me just fill the code to the parameter video, not need <youtube width=215 height=170> </youtube> but when I add this to my infobox, the video does not show at the articles.
Hi Fandyl, I have contact about youtube at WYSIWYG and Timothy Quievryn said this will be fixed for a while. Can you help this, can you help make a template for wikia that can show user status? On or Off. Please help!
Could you help this, help for Phineas and Ferb wiki community and affiliated wikis? We have a template name w:c:phineasandferb:template:era! It is used for showing icons to pages! But now in some wiki can't control them. Please test and see it in PnF wiki and PnF vi wiki!
Hello Fandyllic, I need your help with the template Infobox episode on Shaun the Sheep Wiki, you may look at this example page, in the section Episode guide of the infobox, how can I keep ← Previous ← and → Next → on 1 line? The Episode guide bases at Infobox episode/guide. Thanks!
I guess I don't understand what you want. It looks fine to me, but I made a change that will at least align the text at the bottom of the template. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 10 Nov 2011 10:18 AM Pacific

talkbox shape like that, what should I do? Can you help me with the command? —This unsigned comment is by RoseXinh (talk • contribs) 21:30, November 13, 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
I can't help you. For one thing, your "rounded rectangular talkbox" isn't really using CSS rounded corners which would be a better way to do it anyway.
The only possible way to use an oval or cloud bubble would be to somehow restrict the text to fit in the non-rectangular shape, which I don't know how to do. So sorry, I can't help you. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 13 Nov 2011 10:47 PM Pacific
Now that you mention it yes, I've promptly jumped into the deep end without my floaties. The goal is to get Wikipedia Navbox with Collapsible Groups on the wikia. It's a massacre D: Vainamoinen 00:30, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
That suggestion is indeed very much preferable to what I was doing but I still have the main issue I'm working on. I can't seem to solve this problem for another wikia wiki I'm on. I'm trying to create collapsible anything, not just tables. It should be possible on ANY wiki given that the paragraph setup of every user talk page creates a contents box with a hide/show button on it. The trick is figuring out how to get this functionality elsewhere and just plugging in the straight HTML code definately isn't working. Perhaps this is just another Seward's folly waiting to happen but it sounds so easy in my head!Vainamoinen 04:55, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
Hiya, i'm Zoey95 from the L4D page. I'm currently contributing to the Dead Space wikia and I need to learn how to place images (the latest one I uploaded) and place them in the Parameters section. Please could you leave a note for me on how to do this. Thank you :) Zoey95 20:21, March 2, 2012 (UTC)
Hi Zoey, could you link to an example page on the L4D Wikia where you'd like to place an image, and say exactly how you want to add it? I'm afraid "in the Parameters section" isn't really that clear. 「ディノ奴千?!」? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:04, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

I want to ask you to make for my ru.templates.wikia.com Graphic trademark in that style in which yours' is. If you can do this - I need this text: "Шаблоны Wikia".
I have been searching for a template like this that contains an image, and two text boxes on each end (top & bottom). I would like to use this for the wiki I represent, the Survivor Fanon wiki. We create fan fiction seasons of the CBS show, Survivor. I would like to use this to represent each season with the season's logo as the image, the top representing the season title, and the bottom representing the author. I have toyed with the coding and can't seem to get it to work, because the image never fits the way I would like it to. I was wondering if you could be of assistance. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you get back to me soon.
To see what I mean, click here to go to my user page on my wiki, where I have left an example for you on the bottom.
P.S. If you can - tell me please where can I read all about parser functions, html, css and all what uses here in wiki projects. No matter english or russian versions.
Wikia also uses StringFunctions. If you still have questions after reading these pages, please ask! =) 「ディノ奴千?!」? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:19, August 30, 2012 (UTC)
